Information & specifications of Epoxy bonded fiber glass
Fiber Reinforced plastics are rigid sheets laminated using thermosetting (epoxy) resins and fiberglass fabric. Characterized by high dielectric strength, excellent mechanical and thermal properties and good flexural strength. Have good machinablity and punchability Ideally suited for wedging applications, as interlayer insulation in electromagnets, as terminal plates & separators in switchgears.
Epoxy bonded laminates are manufactured with thermosetting resins and specially treated fiberglass cloth, suited for use at elevated temperatures.
Epoxy sheets are laminated under controlled heat and specified hydraulic pressure to produce a compact laminate, characterized by high dielectric strength, excellent mechanical and thermal properties and good flexural strength.
Application
Epoxy bonded laminates are popularly used for wedging applications in motors, in electro-magnets as interlayer insulation, in switchgears as terminal plates, separators, connection rods and levers. These sheets are suitable for Switchboards, LV and HV Circuit breakers, Bus Bar supports, a.o. Epoxy rods/tubes are widely used as rod bolts in transformer stacks, capacitors, transformer mounting rods and circuit breaker shafts.
Availability
Epoxy bonded laminates are available as natural (greenish, yellowish) color sheets with a standard size of 1,050 x 1,190 mm and a thickness ranging from 0.50 mm to 60 mm. Other sizes are possible as end products, manufactured to customer specifications. Also available: rods and tubes combined with micanite.
Shelf life
Epoxy sheets have no shelf life limitations when stored up to 24 months at 25°C and 50% relative humidity.
