Precision glass tubes/calibrated glass tubes:

If standard glass tubes have excessive tolerances for your application, standard glass tubes (e.g. from borosilicate glass 3.3) can be machined to your desired tolerances.

Using special tools, the glass tubes are machined, resulting in very precise inner diameters, mainly from borosilicate glass 3.3. In the process, the precision glass tubes can be manufactured in diameters from 0.4 to 250 mm and with dimensional accuracies in the micrometre range, depending on the customer’s individual requirements. With your request, we will go to the engineers to see what is possible.

Possible operations:

Glass tubes can be machined internally and externally, think of the external or internal rejuvenation of the glass tube, planparallel grinding, squareness, drilling, mechanical and/or flame polishing or the application of protective “anti-splinter” film. Special shapes with square, oval or conical internal forms are also possible. Printed or unprinted in various processing stages, these products are used as injection cylinders, measuring glasses, rotameters or laser tubes, among others.

Optionally, we supply a (calibrated) measurement report along with them.


There are multiple applications for precision glass tubes in production and process technology in various industries. Applications can be found in biotechnology, chemistry, electrical engineering, instrumentation and equipment construction, mechatronics, laboratory technology, machine construction and ATEX environments. Glass tubes made of borosilicate glass 3.3 are also used in the laboratory. The special composition of the glass enables extremely high chemical resistance, minimal thermal expansion and high thermal shock resistance.
